How to make a stealth shelf from a book with your own hands?

Old books ... They are in every home. And it's a pity to throw it away - and nowhere to put it. We offer you an interesting idea: make a shelf from the book with your own hands. Things that keep your hands warm will always serve to decorate the house and add a special touch to its interior, besides, you will be sure that no one else has the same shelf.

Such a shelf in the form of a book can be a stand for a vase, framed photos, or even a real bookshelf for its “smaller” counterparts, for example, collections of miniature books will look very nice on it.

Invisible shelf, the first option.

If you have a beautiful, well-published book that is completely uninteresting to read, you can use it to create a shelf that looks like a book hanging in the air near the wall. If this book is large, the shelf can be used as a book, a small one can be used as a stand for a photo or some kind of decorative ornament.

Materials

To make a shelf in the form of a book, you will need:

proper books, it is better that they are beautiful and durable;
brackets - one for each book, each with three holes;
three screws (each with two washers);
for each bracket three dowels with screws for attaching the brackets to the wall;
tools: drill, screwdriver.

Process

To make a shelf from a book with your own hands, you do not need any special skills. It is important to follow the sequence of actions.

Markup for holes. The bracket is applied in the center, we press, we insert the drill into one of the holes and strongly press on it. Repeat for all three holes.

We drill in the future stealth shelves marked holes.

In the open book (approximately in the middle) we put the bracket, insert a screw with a washer into it - and fasten the second washer on the other side. It protects against unwinding and tearing of the paper.

Twist the screw with a screwdriver (or screwdriver). Repeat for the other two holes.

Drill a hole under the dowel in the right place on the wall with a drill, and fasten the bracket with the finished shelf on it!

Important: Choose to create a book-like shelf the thickest and densest book available. Remember that too much load on such a shelf can not be given.

Invisible shelf, the second option.

It differs from the first variant of the shelf by fastening to the wall: there is no longer just one bracket, but two, due to which the shelf will turn out to be more durable, stable, and will be able to withstand a greater load.

Materials

To make a solid shelf from the book with your own hands, you need:

big book in a strong hardcover;
two matching brackets;
four self-tapping screws for the shelf, and as many dowels with screws for fastening the shelf to the wall;
tools: drill, screwdriver, marking pencil, level.

Process

On the back side, attach brackets to the book, making sure that they have the same indent from the edge. Make a pencil markup in the holes - here will be attached to the invisible shelf brackets.
